For sweet dreams and improved circulation, "Golden Milk" is a delicious drink for good health!
Our dad is huge into holistic healing, so when I told him that I was feeling a bit under the weather and was getting a little swollen in my legs from my pregnancy, he made me this sweet treat. The star ingredient of this drink is turmeric and includes anti-inflammatory, antioxidant properties that also helps with detoxing your body, digestion, induces sleep, heal wounds, clear skin and treats arthritis...along with a laundry list of other benefits. Best of all, this recipe is so quick and delicious you just might kick that coffee habit and opt for this instead!
INGREDIENTS (SERVES 1):
- 1 cup milk (your preference)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 3 pieces cardamom
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp almond butter
- small stick of cinnamon
honey to taste
On medium heat, mix all of the ingredients in a pot EXCEPT the honey and almond butter. Bring to a soft boil and take off of the stove.
In your cup, put in the almond butter and honey. Once your milk is ready, filter through a strainer into your cup. The warm milk will melt the almond butter into your drink faster.
