Local Mama-Owned Small Businesses We Love!

Everyday, we LOVE celebrating local business owners. In light of Mother's Day, for today's post we'd like to shout out some of our favorite mama-owned local small businesses, killin' the game AND raising a family too. This Mother's Day, treat your mom to gifts from these lovely businesses!

You guys, the list does NOT stop here. There are so many amazing local mama-owned businesses out there. Here are just 10 of my personal faves from Hawai‘i :).

Jules + Gem Hawai‘i has some of the most amazing fragrances to fill your home or office with! These candles and home sprays are hand-poured with so much love by Lana Gronwald in her studio on O‘ahu. I literally have almost every single one of her candle scents in my house lol! Of course, my favorite of them all is our collaboration scent PARADISE which is available as a candle and a room spray... also a beautiful Mother's Day gift.. hint hint ;).

I've had the pleasure of knowing Nikki for so many years now, and she is hands down one of the most talented photographers I know! She's the amazing creative behind so many of our past Dolkii campaigns, and she's also shot many of our family photos. Many of you might not know this, but Fighting Eelwas the very first boutique to give our brand a shot and carry our tees in all 4 of their stores! I've loved this brand for as long as I can remember, and even remember lining up for their sample sales in downtown chinatown before they had boutiques. FE is owned by two amazing mamas, Lan & Rona, who started the fashion line back in 2003. Today, they own 4 boutiques across O‘ahu and a sister line called Ava Sky. You can also find our Dolkii tees in all FE locations across O‘ahu!

Marylea Conrad is the amazing creative behind Ki'ele Jewelry & Accessories. I've been such a huge fan of her brand for as long as I can remember simply because she had the most beautiful, fun, fresh pieces at such affordable prices! This wahine is also the queen of pop up events and very often you can find her pop ups at Bloomindales on O‘ahu and across Southern California!

ARLIE GLASS JEWELRY

Corey, owner of Nā Wāhine Lole Swimwearhas some of the cutest swimwear designs and hand makes each piece from her home. I love her exclusive tropical prints and bright colors that will make you wanna live in your bikini! She usually has ready to ship pieces on her website, and also does custom pieces if you inquire with her via DM. We recently styled our Dolkii tees with her swimwear for our Holiday '19 shoot which you can see across our website!

The Shaka Tea empire Bella Hughes is building is goals. This amazing company is the first line of Hawaiʻi-grown, herbal iced teas on the market brewed from māmaki, which is only found and grown one place in the world - the Hawaiian archipelago. Thanks to its rapid growth lead by Bella, you can easily find Shaka Tea at any grocery store in Hawai‘i and even major grocery stores on the mainland like Whole Foods!

COCO MOON HAWAI‘I

Buttery-soft baby essentials made with aloha is the perfect way to describe Coco Moon Hawai‘i products. This brand is my go-to when gifting baby items to friends and family with keiki. Also, 1% of all of Coco Moon's profits are donated to local non-profits, and as of early 2020, they've donated to over 30 local organizations doing impactful work for our environment, our children, and the overall health of our communities.

Founded by Amanda Iaukea, Live A Lei Lifehas some of the most unique leis I've ever seen. What I love most about her leis, is that they last forever! The leis we used for our Holiday '19 photoshoot on the North Shore are displayed in our office in downtown LA and we still use them as props for flat lays! Easy to ship, and lasts forever, you can shop her pieces on Instagram or at Paiko in Kaka‘ako!
